THE MAGNETIC DOT ENCYCLOPEDIA

Solid Pointed Star Icosahedron Like

by: Gustoph Follow

These pointed star icosahedrons are completely solid, and start out their lives as C60 spheres! I added rings of 5 onto each ring of 5, then added 20 rings of 6 on top of that, then added 20 triangles made from 14 magnets on top of that. Another layer of 20 triangles made from 14 magnets, then rings of 6 with their centers filled, then triangles made from 3 magnets ontop of each filled hexagon ring. All said and done, each star takes 964 magnets, and could be made bigger if the builder wanted to add more layers!
