Caged Rhombic Dodecahedral Dual Frame of Spheres Like

by: ledwatchman Follow

Made entirely from 139 "C60" spheres (better named "R60" spheres for they're really mini rhombicosidodecahedrons of 60 balls each), forming two rhombic dodecahedron frames of different edge length, one inside the other. The R60s are connected across triangles of 3 balls to produce the rhombic design.

the whole dual frame aspect just blows my mind. Do you build it in halves?

Nice work with the typical ledwatchman touch :)

Thanks GT and Huffs, I built the inner frame first seated on a strong base of the outer frame, and then completed the outer frame around it carefully an edge (3 or 4 spheres) at a time.

This is madness, it must have had a mighty presence about it.
