    Actually if you look real close the shape is pretty normal, that is if you know the basic component. It's a typical (12) pentagon design, except the (12) pentagons are really intricate...lol

    If you look at the image above you can see one of the (12) sub-assemble (centered) consisting of a 2 stack 2 layer pentagon in the center surrounded by (5) 3 stack 2 layer pentagons, creating 1 large pentagon type shape. The rest is all basic assembly.

    I had been experimenting with what I called penta-cubes, a pentagonal shape as high as it is wide (or close to it)..lol
